Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow, and the ACLU of Wisconsin reminded voters that if they have any issues at the polls, they can contact the Election Protection Hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683).

For many years, the ACLU of Wisconsin has been engaged in Election Protection efforts alongside a broad coalition of nonpartisan organizations across the state. Election Protection is staffed by lawyers who monitor the hotline, address systemic issues affecting access to the polls, and—when necessary—seek relief for voters in the courts.

Non-partisan Election Protection attorneys and law student observers serve a critical role by providing mobile poll monitoring during elections, helping to respond to and address issues reported by Election Observers and to the Election Protection Hotline, and, in rare cases, stepping into court with the help of the ACLU legal team and its attorney coalition partners. Non-partisan attorneys and law student volunteers also receive training specific to voting rights and democracy defense.

“If voters need assistance on Election Day or have witnessed issues at the polls, such as voter intimidation or other barriers to access, please contact Election Protection,” said Dr. Melinda Brennan, Executive Director of the ACLU of Wisconsin. “We’re ready to protect voters' rights and ensure this election runs smoothly.”
