Friday U.S. District Court Judge Barbara Crabb struck down Wisconsin's discriminatory law preventing same-sex couples from marrying. The American Civil Liberties Union of Wisconsin challenged the law on behalf of eight couples, including Virginia Wolf and Carol Schumacher, seeking the freedom to marry in Wisconsin or have their out-of-state marriages recognized.
We are tremendously happy that these loving and committed couples will have the security and recognition that only marriage provides. These discriminatory laws are falling around the country and it is only right that Wisconsin move forward as well.
It is also only right that we celebrate! Join us Saturday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Plus (formerly Pizza Plus), 208 South Barstow Street for a party with Carol and Virginia.
