Join us for a free meal, screening, and panel discussion about the impact of incarceration on Wisconsin families.
For decades, the Wisconsin Department of Corrections has torn babies from their mothers' arms. We sued because the law actually requires programs allowing incarcerated parents to maintain physical custody for the first year of their infant's life.
The video is from our ongoing storytelling project that tells the stories of incarcerated mothers and the fight to ensure them and their families are treated with the dignity, care and respect we all deserve.
Following the screening, we will host a Q&A featuring:
- Legal experts
- Advocates who work in the field
- Mothers who have navigated the challenges of incarceration
Let’s come together to advocate for mothers and their children, ensuring that essential services are provided and their voices are heard. We look forward to seeing you there!
