Our annual Bill of Rights Celebration honors community members dedicated to protecting civil liberties.
Join us at The Hamilton in Milwaukee and enjoy hearty hors d’oeuvres, craft cocktails, a cash bar, live music and arts activities.

2013 Bill of Rights Awards Winners:
William Gorham Rice Civil Libertarian of the Year: Awarded to David Cecsarini and Next Act Theatre, for insisting that the show must go on in the face of censorship. When Phantom Cicada Theatre was forced out of its venue, The Bible: The Complete Word of God (Abridged) was moved to Next Act where the musical played to sold-out audiences.
Eunice Z. Edgar Lifetime Achievement: Awarded to Barbara J. Miner, for her tireless fight in support of public schools. She is the author of the recent book Lessons from the Heartland: A Turbulent Half-Century of Public Education in an Iconic American City (New York: New Press, 2013).
Jack and Lucy Rosenberg Youth Civil Libertarian of the Year: Awarded to Michael Freytes, a senior at Alliance High School, for his dedication as a community organizer and leader of the Public Arts Student Alliance.
