Wednesday, April 18 - UWEC campus event: "First Amendment Free Food Festival"
UW-Eau Claire Campus Mall, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., free
The UWEC Society for Professional Journalists student chapter will again host this creative event that aims to raise awareness of First Amendment rights. By offering students and community members a free lunch - in exchange for a willingness to sign away their rights to freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly and petition, the event is a fun way to remind us about the serious topic of censorship. Visit the Chippewa Valley ACLU Chapter table to meet local chapter volunteers and score some ACLU swag. Find out more about the UWEC SPJ group online.
